Graduation Weekend (Updated 1x)

My Eastern time zone friends can rejoice: I've officially started participating in the graduation ceremony activities. The highlights so far:
  • I received a stole at the Black student recognition ceremony, and I was given a personalized business card holder for graduating with Latin Honors.
  • I went to the Phi Beta Kappa recognition ceremony, which featured this man with a very strange speaking pattern--afterward we debated whether he was crying/choking up or just wheezing.
  • I ran into some good friends, and reconnected with an old one (the latter experience will be explained in a future post).
  • Lots of my friends met Z for the first time, and they think he's really cute. :-)
  • I just opened my graduation present from Z, and he got me a natural hair book. (I complain sometimes about not being good at trying out new styles, especially since I don't have the patience for video tutorials.) Definitely a useful gift!
I will have pictures and more details in the next few days--yay for graduating!

Hi Mira,

I did have a good time, but by the end I was kind of ready to just sit down and relaxed. I think being out of school for the last semester has me more removed--I didn't cry or anything. And I will put a picture of my diploma on Facebook ASAP!

That reminds me... I'm still waiting for them to give me my diploma. There's no graduation ceremony here. You just pass all the exams, you write the paper and fill out the forms.

Mira,

How long have you been waiting?

Do they mail it to you?

Since my diploma came in the mail in February, they just gave me an empty book at the ceremony. But I can put my Phi Beta Kappa certificate in there, so it's a win-win. :-)
